This workshop will examine the organization context in which the work of leadership takes place as well as explore the concept of accountability. We will explore potential obstacles to delivering outcomes and identify strategies for getting clear about accountability for individuals and groups.

Navigating Communication and Engaging Optimally in Giving and Receiving Feedback
Our discussion will focus on organization communication processes and how we engage with these optimally. – Email, meetings and in-person conversations. In professional work spaces we will also be engaged in the process of delivering and receiving feedback; in the workshop there will be opportunities to experience both perspectives.

Navigating Conflict and Conflict Styles
We will explore the nature of conflict, the sources and impact of conflict, and identify ways to navigate the conflict. Participants will complete the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) to gain an understanding of their own and other conflict styles.
Participants must attend class to receive TKI results.

In this workshop we will explore a number of concepts integral to effective negotiation. We will explore what makes some experiences more effective than others and examine the how and when of negotiation preparation. In this session; we will also explore the behavioral aspects of negotiation including dealing with emotion. Whether negotiation is part of your everyday work or something you are preparing for in the future, you will take away insights and strategies to build or enhance your effectiveness.

Mentoring and Professional Development
We will discuss the nature of mentoring and professional mentoring relationships, the respective mentor and mentee roles and learn how to maximize the mentoring relationship for professional development. Additionally, we will discuss opportunities to enhance professional development.
