Types of Events
The UPDA holds professional development, social, and other advocacy events to support and promote postdoc engagement at the university.
For professional development events, we organize faculty/staff panelists to discuss the processes of academic and industry job hirings, interviews and negotiations, as well as website design, CV/Resume workshops, etc.
For social events, we organize hikes, picnics, BBQs, snowshoeing, brewery visits, etc., depending on the season.

UPDA Monthly Meet up
Curious about UPDA's upcoming event ideas and what’s in the works? Join us at our
monthly UPDA meet-up, where we brainstorm topics and organize events important to our postdocs. The meeting time and venue/zoom link are announced in our weekly newsletters via email.

UPDA March Coffee Hour
Take a break from the lab and join our March Coffee Hour on Monday, March 30 from
9:30-10:30 am at L.S Skaggs Pharmacy Research Institute (1st floor attrium). Come enjoy free coffee and donuts, connect with fellow postdocs
and spend an hour relaxing and building community. It's a great chance to meet new
colleagues, catch up with friends and recharge during the busy season. Please RSVP

UPDA Postdoc Town Hall - Pre-Questionnaire
The UPDA is preparing a Postdocs Town Hall on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 and we’re
gathering input to ensure the conversation reflects what matters most to you. This
brief, anonymous questionnaire helps us understand your experiences, needs, and priorities
as a postdoc. The Town Hall will be organized by postdocs, creating a dedicated space
for open discussion. Your feedback directly shapes the agenda and strengthens support,
resources and community for postdocs across campus. Thank you for taking a moment
